Here's the backyard with the new fence completed today! Now Daisy can go out and sunbathe and do her business without supervision. I'm very grateful it's finally done, but also reminded of how something good often (always) comes out of our trials. When the fence was down, we met more neighbors. Because the fence was destroyed with Ike, we now have a new, much better fence with a gate to access the right of way. The new fence is about 8" further back than the previous, so even our backyard got larger. Plus, there's that lovely new wood smell. Little things, perhaps, but ones I'm thankful for.

that's a gorgeous fence! i'm on the fence (get it? ha!) about fenced-in yards. we have loved meeting our neighbors with our open yard, but at the same time, when you're sick of each other, it's sort of hard to share the space. it's been interesting, though!
